Five journalists, including Independent TV correspondent Toufiqul Islam Lipu, were injured in a criminal attack in Teknaf of Cox’s Bazar yesterday.The others injured are Cameraperson Sharif, Staff Reporter of Somoy TV Sujauddin Rubel and Cameraperson Faij and Cameraperson of 71 TV Babu Dey. They were admitted to local hospital.
The journalists were on their way to Cox’s Bazar after gathering news on the attack and looting of arms from an Ansar Camp in Teknaf. The injured said some unidentified men attacked them with sharp weapons and sticks after stopping their microbus at about 6pm when they reached Najirpara area of Teknaf.
