Indian clothes worth Tk1.4 cr seized, 2 held

Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard (West Zone) seized two trucks loaded
with Indian clothes worth about Tk1.4 crore and arrested two people in
this connection at Rupsa Bridge in Khulna district early Monday.
The arrested were identified as Abdur Rahman, 28, of South Katia
village of Sadar upazila of Satkhira district, and Sohag Hossain, 27,
of Khabsa village of same upazila and district.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of the coast guard halted a truck, coming
from Satkhira border area early in the morning and arrested the duo,
said Aliullah, commander of (Operations) of Mongla Coast Guard (West
Zone).
Later, they found huge Indian three-pieces and other clothes worth
about Tk1.4 crore on it.
The arrested and seized clothes were handed over to police station.
