Dhaka- A Indian court ordered for the extradition of Nur Hossain, the prime accused in sensational Narayanganj seven-murder case, to Bangladesh by December 15 this year.Acting District Session Judge of North 24 Pargana district at Barasat in West Bengal passed the order on Friday noon withdrawing the case against him under Section 14 of the Indian Foreigners Act, according to a local source.
However, the court also ordered to continue the case against two other others — Khan Sumon and Wahiduzzaman – who were arrested along with Nur Hossain from an apartment in Kolkata on June 14 night in 2014.
The court started hearing the case at around 2:00 pm (local time) and passed the order at around 4:15 pm.
The court ordered the jail super of Damdam Jail, where Nur Hossain and his two accomplices are detained, to extradite him to Bangladesh by December 15 this year.
On April 27 in 2014, Narayanganj panel mayor Nazrul Islam, his three associates and driver were abducted by miscreants from Fatullah area of Narayanganj. Hours after their abduction, senior lawyer at district Judge’s Court Chandan Kumar Sarker and his driver were also abducted on their way to capital Dhaka.
Three days into their abduction, the bodies of six people, including that of Nazrul and Chandan Kumar, were recovered from the Shitalakhya River on April 30 in the same year. Besides, the following day, the body of Jahangir, car driver of Nazrul Islam, was recovered from the river.
Nur Hossian, a Narayanganj city Awami League leader and also a councillor, and his associates remained absconding following the abduction and killing of the seven people.
Shahidul Islam alias Shahid chairman, father-in-law of slain Nazrul Islam, filed a case along with his widowed daughter alleging that some officials of elite force Rab killed Nazrul Islam, in exchange for Tk 6 crore from city councillor Nur Hossain.- News desk
