Indian Navy Chief lauds Bangladesh Navy

Visiting Chief of Naval Staff of Indian Navy Admiral R K Dhowan today lauded Bangladesh Navy for its efforts to turn the force into three-dimensional one under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The Indian naval chief came up with the appreciation when he called on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her Jatiya Sangsad office on Monday evening.
After the meeting, PM’s Press Secretary AKM Shameem Chowdhuri briefed reporters.
He said Admiral R K Dhowan also lauded the government’s endeavours to build a deep seaport under the leadership of the Prime Minister.He said the partnership between Bangladesh Navy and Indian Navy is excellent and there are many things to learn from it.
Highly praising the Prime Minister’s “Blue Economy” concept, the Indian naval chief said Bangladesh could extract huge marine resources like gas, oil and mineral resources by properly utilizing the concept.
He welcomed Bangladesh as the country is going to take over the chairmanship of the 35-member Indian Ocean Naval Cooperation from January next.
During the time, the Prime Minister recalled with deep gratitude the contribution of the Indian Navy to Bangladesh’s War of Liberation. – BSS
