Police arrested a local leader of Jamaat-e-Islami from a madrasah in Choigharia area of Sadar upazila on Sunday on charges of murder and subversive activities.The arrestee was identified as Maulana Mosharaf Hossain, ameer of Ghona union unit Jamaat and super of Abdus Sattar Dakhil Madrasa and also son of late Rajab Ali of Chhanka village of the upazila.Emdadul Haque Sheikh, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said on secret information, a team of police conducted a raid at the madrasah in Choigharia area at about 12:30 am and arrested Mosharaf.The arrestee was wanted in several cases including for killing of Satkhira City College student Mamun and carrying out subversive activities and vandalism, the OC added.- UNB, Satkhira
