A Dhaka court on Sunday placed Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) Acting President Bazlul Karim Chowdhury Abed on a five-day remand in a case filed in connection with vandalism and arson attack of a vehicle at Malibagh Chowdhutypara on November 11.Magistrate Anwar Sadat of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka granted the remand after Ramna Police Station Inspector Sirajul Islam produced Abed to his court seeking a 10-day remand to interrogate him about the incident.
Deputy Commissioner (Public Relations) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Masudur Rahman told newsmen that Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested Abed and Titumir College unit JCD Vice-President Belayet Hossain at an office of Elephant Road in the capital in an old case of shutdown and blockade Saturday.
