Activist of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra dal (JCD), who was stabbed by
miscreants in the city’s Jalalabad Residential area at 8pm on Saturday
night succumbed to his injuries at Osmani Medical College in Sylhet
city on Saturday at 8.30pm.
The deceased was identified as Mizanur Rahman (26), son of Janu Miah
of Amberkhana Shuvecha Residential area in the city also a activist
of Jatiyatabadi Chhatradal and group member of Central BNP Member,
Chhatak Upazila Chairman Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury in the city.
Sources said, after Iftar JCD activist Mizan was going to Jalalabad
Residential area when a youth gang called Mizan to a nearby sand field
where they stabbed him. Local people took him to Sylhet Osmani Medical
College Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
Enraged by the death of Miazan Chowdhury, activists blocked the road,
causing long traffic jams on the both sides of the Sylhet-Sunamganj
Road of Darshandewri area in Sylhet city. They were vandalised a
number of shops and vehicles.
On information, police went to the spot and brought the situation
