A Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) activist was shot dead and seven other people injured in an attack by some unidentified miscreants at Amishapara bazar in Sonaimuri upazila on Thursday noon.
The deceased was identified as M Parvez, 18, son of Jahangir Alam of Palpara village of the upazila.Locals said when a group of madrasha students were returning home a gang of criminals swooped on them around 2 pm. They opened fire on them, leaving Parvez dead on the spot.The terrorists also stabbed the madrasha students with sharp weapons, leaving seven of them injured. The injured people were rushed to local Bazra hospital, Chatkhil hospital and Noakhali Medical College Hospital.Local unit BNP blamed Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) men for the murder.Confirming the incident, Officer-in-charge of Sonaimuri Police Station Abdus Samad said police recovered the body and sent it to Noakhali Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. -Correspondent, Noakhali
