Joint efforts bring gains, not division: Chinese envoy

Dhaka – Chinese Ambassador in Dhaka Li Jun on Friday laid emphasis on more future collaboration between the two friendly countries — Bangladesh and China — for ensuring mutual gains. The Chinese diplomat thinks mutual cooperation brings gains while division brings nothing.“If the countries in the world cooperate with each other, nothing will remain impossible. If we remain divided, nothing can be gained,” Li Jun said appreciating Bangladesh-China collaboration in water buffalo genome sequencing success.
The historic announcement came at a function held at Hotel Radisson in the city in presence of elite scientists from home and abroad, donors and foreign delegates.
He said much more collaboration between the two countries must be encouraged in the future for mutual gains.
The diplomat assured that his country will continue to work together with Bangladesh.
Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, Prime Minister’s Foreign Affairs Adviser Dr Gowher Rizvi, Chinese Ambassador in Dhaka Li Jun, Deputy Chief of Mission of US Embassy in Dhaka Jon F Danilowicz, renowned business personality Abdul awal Mintoo, his son Tabith M Awal, Chinese researchers Jian Wang and Dr Gengyun also spoke on the occasion.- UNB
