Dhaka-A Dhaka court on Tuesday placed journalist Nazmul Huda, the Savar correspondent of Bangladesh Television and Ekushy Television, on a two-day remand in a case filed under the ICT Act.Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Mostafizur Rahman of Dhaka passed the order on yesterday (Tuesday) rejecting Nazmul’s bail petition. Earlier, Abdul Awal, the Investigation Officer of the case sought a seven-day remand to the journalist.
Police detained Nazmul Huda from Baipail in Ashulia on December 23 on the charge of inciting workers and helping them create unrest in the garment industry of Ashulia. His cell phone, laptop and a care were allegedly seized.
Later, Ashulia thana police filed a case under the ICT Act against Huda for disseminating false information and carrying out propaganda using a fake facebook ID to instigate Ashulia RMG workers.-Court Correspondent
