Journos to join human chain, protest Digital Security Bill

The Shampadak Parishad (Editors’ Council) on Saturday expressed its deep regret at the passage of the Digital Security Act 2018, which it considers to be against the freedom guaranteed by the constitution, media freedom and freedom of speech.

The Shampadak Parishad in a meeting held at The Daily Star Centre today with the News Today founding editor, Reazuddin Ahmed, in the chair, also decided to protest against the Digital Security Act 2018 by staging a human chain at 11 am on September 29 in front of the Jatiya Press Club.

The Sampadok Parishad, in a statement issued after the meeting, invited all journalists’ and media bodies and individual media personnel to join the human chain.
