Jatiya Sangsad on Wednesday formed five standing committees including business advisory committee headed by Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhruy.
The members of the business advisory committee are-Prime Minister and Leader of the House Sheikh Hasina, opposition leader Rawshan Ershad, Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury, Jatiya Party chairman HM Ershad, Suranjit Sengupta, Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, Amir Hossain Amu, Tofail Ahmed, Mainuddin Khan Badal, Rashed Khan Menon, Abdul Motin Khasru, deputy speaker Fazle Rabbi Miah, ASM Firoz Rashid and Anisul Haq.Standing committee on Rules of Procedures affairs has been formed headed by Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury. The other members of the committee are—HM Ershad, Suranjit Sengupta, Fazle Rabbi Miah, Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, Prof Ali Ashraf, Vice-principal Abdus Shahid, Abdul Motin Khasru, ASM Firoz, Anisul Haq, Rashed Khan Menon and Hasanul Haq Inu.
On behalf of the prime minister, Chief Whip ASM Firoz moved the proposal of the committee before the House which was unanimously accepted in voice vote.
Petition committee has been headed by Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhruy.
The other members of the 10-member committee are—Shekh Fazlul Karim Selim,
HM ERshad, Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir, Fazle Rabbi Miah, Abdus Shahid, Sheikh Nurul Haque, Dhirendra Deb Nath Shambhu, Moinuddin Khan Bada and Saber Hossain Chowdhury.
The Speaker formed Parliament headed by chief ship ASM Firoz, Abdus Shahid, Noor-e-Alam Chowdhury, Segupta Yasmin, Tajul Islam, Fazle Hossain Badsha, Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, Ashraful Haque, Mahbub Ara, Nazmul Haque Prodhan, Talukder Md Yunus and Panchanon Biswas.
Parliamentary standing committee on the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs has been formed with Suranjit Sengupta as its chairman.
The other members of the 10-member committee include Anisul Haq Mahmud, Sahara Khatun, Abdul Motin Khasru, Shamsul Haque Tuku, Majid Khan, Advocate Ziaul Haque Mridha, Talukder Md Yunus and Tajul Islam. A member will be included in the committee from women reserved seat after their election.

Meanwhile, some lawmakers took part in the general discussion on thanks-giving motion on the address of President.
