Kazi Zafar Ahmed, chairman of the BNP-led 20-party’s component Jatiya Party (Zafar), on Monday night met BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and discussed the current political situation and upcoming city polls.
Kazi Zafar entered Khaleda’s residence around 6:30pm soon after she returned there after visiting her younger son Arafat Rahman Koko’s grave at Banani Graveyard.Later, they held an hour-long meeting. Kazi Zafar Ahmed is scheduled to ,leave for Australia on Tuesday for physical check-up. He is expected to return by the third week of the current month, party sources told GreenWatch Dhaka
Asked about the outcome of the meeting, Kazi Zafar said, “We discussed various issues relating to the current political situation, movement strategy and the upcoming city polls.”
Jatiya Party secretary general Mostafa Jalal Haider was present. The JP faction led by Kazi Zafar parted with HM Ershad before the January 05 elections of 2014, on the plea that the Ershad faction was planning to join the election in disguise while outwardly showing its relationship of the then opposition.
