Khaleda shocked at loss of lives in storm

Dhaka: BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia on Sunday expressed deep shock at the loss of lives and property in a storm that swept through different parts of the country, including Faridpur.
In a condolence message, Khaleda said, “I express my profound sympathy to the badly affected people of Faridpur.” She hoped that the people of the storm-affected areas will face the calamity with patience and fortitude, and start life anew overcoming the losses. UNB News Agency Reported. The BNP chief also prayed for salvation of the departed souls of those killed in the storm and expressed her deep sympathy to their bereaved family members.
Khaleda urged the authorities concerned to take immediate steps to rehabilitate the victims and provide them with necessary assistance to recoup their losses.
Six people, including three workers of a jute mill, were killed and 50 others injured in separate incidents as storm lashed different parts of Faridpur Sadar upazila. The storm also hit some other districts, injuring over 50 people, and damaging houses, trees and crops.
