Lawyer suspended for misconduct with judge

A lawyer of a court in Jessore was suspended on Monday for behaving
offensively towards a judge during a case hearing.
Jessore Bar Association suspended lawyer Shakawat Hossain temporarily
and issued a show-cause notice to him asking to know why his
membership of the association should not be cancelled permanently.
Confirming the incident, the association’s president, AZM Feroz, said
Shakawat had behaved with senior judicial magistrate Sumi Ahmed in an
offensive way during a case hearing on May 30 as she did not grant
bail to his two clients, who are absconding for a long time.
Later, the judge submitted a written complaint to the association in
this regard.
The association also gave a seven days’ time to the suspended lawyer
to give reply to the notice.
