Low extending its trough to North-east Bay

Dhaka- Seasonal low that lies over South Bay is extending its trough to North-east Bay, says Bangladesh Meteorological Department in its weather forecast on Thursday.
Ridge of Sub-continental high extends up to Bihar and adjoining area, it added.
Weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country. Night and day temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the area.
Moderate to thick fog may occur at places over the river basins and northern part of the country and light to moderate fog may occur elsewhere over the country during mid night till morning.
According to inland riverport warning message, the prevailing foggy condition over northwestern and central part of Bangladesh with surface visibility 500m or less may continue during next 3-4 hours.
Commencing from 10am of today (January 5) wherein rivercrafts shall proceed with caution but no signal is to be hoisted, it added.
The maximum temperature of yesterday was recorded 29.0 degree Celsius in Cox’s Bazar and Teknaf while minimum temperature of today (Thursday) has been recorded 11.2 degree Celsius in Chuadanga and Srimangal. -UNB
