Machine readable cow!

Hijacking of cows or I would define ‘Cow-jacking’ has increased significantly. Recently a cattle-laden truck was hijacked from the parliament area. The police reportedly succeeded in locating the truck and arresting the driver but the stolen cattle are yet to be traced. While going through the news, I was thinking how would the stolen cows be identified if the thieves had taken those to a big cattle market? I suppose that these cows are not properly marked with identification number or sign.
In order to identify individual cows, the owners should put identification marks on their cattle either by simple country method or modern electronic markers using micro-chip implant. More advanced marking can be done by DNA finger printing. It is possible to identify even the skin and meat of a cow or any other animal because the DNA finger print image is unique.
