Mahmud sent to jail again

The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka on Tuesday sent back the acting editor of the Daily Amar Desh Mahmudur Rahman to jail on completion of his three-day remand in a case filed in connection with publishing a news item in the daily.Magistrate Erfan Ullah of the CMM Court passed the order when police produced Mahmudur Rahman to the CMM Court after the remand.
The Amar Desh acting editor was taken on the remand on Saturday through a court of Dhaka, that passed the order on June 12.
The remand prayer says that Jamaat-Shibir activists and their accomplices moved to Shahbagh area to vandalize Gano Jagoran Chattar and on the way they vandalized, and torched vehicles, exploded cocktails and also obstructed police from discharging duties. They were allegedly instigated by the news published in the Daily Amar Desh on February 22. – Court Correspondent
