Mahmudur Rahman on a 5 day remand

The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka on Wednesday placed Amar Desh Acting Editor Mahmudur Rahman on a five-day remand afresh in a case filed in connection with an alleged plot to ‘abduct and kill’ Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s son Sajeeb Wazed Joy.Magistrate Pronod Kumar Hui passed the order after hearing on a remand plea of Hasan Arafat, Senior Assistant Commissioner of the Detective Branch (DB), and who is also the Investigation Officer of the case, produced Mahmudur Rahman to the court on completion of his previous five-day remand.
On April 25, a Dhaka court put Mahmudur Rahman on a five-day remand after showing him arrested in the same case.
Police arrested Mahmudur from his Karwan Bazar office on April 11, 2013. This abduction case was filed with Paltan Police Station on August 03, 2015 for attempt to abduct and kill Joy, who is also the Information and Communication Technology Adviser of the Prime Minister.
