Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested a man from Balirhat in the port city early Wednesday on charges of making ‘derogatory remarks’ about Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on his Facebook wall.
The arrestee was identified as Tofazzal Hossain Helal, 40, son of Md Nasir of the area.Tipped off, a team of Rab-7 conducted a drive at Helal’s residence and arrested him around 5 am, said Major Mehedi Hasan, commanding officer of Rab-7 in Chandgaon.A case will be filed with Chandgaon Police Station in this connection, he Rab official added.
