Sylhet, June 11 (UNB) – A man was arrested in Sylhet on Monday night for sharing and posting indecent, false and defamatory photos on the social media about the prime minister, ministers, MPs and chiefs of the three forces.
The arrestee was identified as Md Jewel Ahmed, 32, son of late Abdul Nur.
Members of Rab-9 arrested him from Khadimnagar area of Shahporan during a drive at 10:30pm, said a Rab press release.
Khaled had been defaming national figures on social media and was involved with anti-state activities for a long time, Rab claimed.
He was handed over to Shahporan police after filing a case under Digital Security Act.
