Dhaka – A man was hacked to death in an attack by rivals over land related dispute in Konchibari area of Sundarganj upazila in Gaibandha on Sunday night.The deceased was identified as Rahim Miah, 48, son of Akram Ali, a resident of Dhupni village in Konchibari union parishad of the upazila,UNB News Agency Reported.
Ismail Hossain, officer-in-charge of Sundarganj Police Station, said Abdur Rahim had a long standing dispute with Johirul Islam and
Solemon Miah over a piece of land at the village.Recently, Solemon Miah had built a house in the land.Rahim along with his men went to the land in the evening and protested Solemon over the construction of the house.At one stage, the men of Solemon and Jahurul attacked Rahim and hit him on the head with a spade, leaving him critically injured.Later, Rahim was rushed to Gaibandh Adhunik Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 8.30pm.
