Dhaka – A court here on Sunday convicted a man and sentenced him to death for killing his daughter in 2009 in Netrakona .Additional district and sessions judge KM Rasheduzzaman Raja pronounced the verdict in absence of the convict.
The convict is Abul Kashem son of Abdur Gani of Dhobahugla village in Purbadhala upazila of the district. The court also fined him Tk 20,000
According to the case statement, Nasima was hacked to death by her father Kashem on October 10, 2009, when she was asleep, aiming to implicate his rivals in a case.
Later, Kashem filed a case with Purbodhola Police Station in this connection.After investigation, police found Kashem guilty and submitted chargesheet against him.UNB
