Mymensingh- A court here on Sunday convicted a man and sentenced him to death for killing a couple in 2014.The condemned convict is Golam Mostafa, hailing from the district town.According to the prosecution, Abdul Haq, a retired government official and his wife Raihatunnesa, a school teacher, were hacked to death by the convict over previous enmity in their house at Akua Gorur Khoar area in the district town on July 1, 2014. Hearing screams, local people rushed in and caught Golam Mostafa red handed. A case was filed in this connection.After examining the records and witnesses, Mymensingh District and Sessions Judge Mohammad Amir Uddin handed down the verdict.(UNB)
