Dhaka, 28 Jan – The First Additional District and Sessions Judge’s Court of Dhaka on Sunday deferred the submission of the investigation report on the further investigation against 5 accused including Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad. The new date is April 22.The investigation officer of the case, CID’s Special Police Super Abdul Kahar Akand was earlier directed to submit the report yesterday. But as he failed to submit the report Judge Pradip Kumar Roy of the court passed the new order.
On June 1, 1981, General Manzoor was shot dead in Chittagong Cantonment when he was in police custody.
After a long time, on February 28, 1995, General Manzoor’s elder brother Barrister Abul Monsur Ahmed lodged the murder case with Panchlaiksh Police Station of Chittagong. – Special Correspondent
