A view exchange meeting on human rights and legal awareness was
arranged by Human Rights and Legal Aid Programme of the non-government
organistion BRAC at the conference room of the Chapainawabganj
District and Session Judge on Wednesday afternoon.The meeting was held with the Chapainawabganj district and session
judge Kabita Khanam in the chair and as the Chief Guest. Among others,
joint district judges Anup Kumar and Mosammat Ismot Ara, additional
chief judicial magistrate Golam Faruk, senior training manager of BRAC
Shadhan Kumar Nandi, Chapainawabganj district representative of BRAC
DM Motaraf Hossain, divisional staff lawyer Rezaul Karim and BRAC
official SM Mizanur Rahman spoke in the meeting.
The speakers said that the marginal people should be made aware of
their rights. It was disclosed in the meeting that BRAC has been
giving legal aid, technical and financial assistance to the poor
litigant people through five Legal Aid Clinics in Chapainawabganj
district.
A total of 30 judges, lawyers and journalists attended the opinion
exchanging meeting.
