‘Militant’ killed in Mymensingh bomb blast, 3 held

Dhaka, Aug 27 – A suspected militant was killed in a bomb explosion at a house in Kashor area of Bhaluka Upazila of Mymensingh on Sunday evening. The deceased could not be identified yet.Mamunur Rashid, officer-in-charge of Bhaluka Police Station, said the bomb went off at the house around 6 pm while the deceased was making bombs.
The deceased ‘militant’ along with his wife and a child rented the house only three days back identifying him as a garment worker, he said.
Police kept the house encircled till filing of this report around 10:50 pm for conducting a drive inside.
The OC also said they detained house owner Azim Uddin, his wife and son for interrogation.
Police suspected that the wife and the child of the alleged militant were also injured in the explosion and they managed to flee the scene. – UNB
