Land Minister Shamsur Rahman Sherif on Wednesday asked the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) of all the districts to give earnest efforts to reduce the harassment of the people at local land offices. The minister came up with the call while talking to reporters after addressing the 1st session of the 2nd day of the four-day DCs’ conference at the Secretariat. Sherif said local people always face problems and sufferings while availing services from land offices. Dhaka, UNB News Agency Reported.
He urged the DCs to remain alert and strongly monitor the activities of the land offices so that people can get land related services without any harassment. Government is trying to reduce the land related complexities throughout the country by digitising the land management system, Sherif said. On Tuesday, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the four-day DCs’ Conference 2016 at her office.
