Miscreants won’t be allowed to raise their heads: Asad

Dhaka – Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Thursday said that the law enforcement agencies do not allow militants or terrorists to raise their heads in the country.
“We have been taking action against extremists, terrorists or miscreants on the basis of intelligence reports so that they (criminals) do not get any scope to raise their heads,” the Home Minister told reporters after visiting Sub-inspector Monir of RAB-12, who was injured during a gunfight with miscreants in Tangail on early Wednesday, at Dhaka CMH on Thursday noon.Two alleged miscreants–Akbar Hossain, 50, and Manu Miah, 35, were killed during a gunfight with Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in Tangail. SI Monir and three other miscreants were also injured in the incident. SI Monir was taken to Tangail Medical College Hospital from where he was shifted to Dhaka CMH.
About incident of Tangail, the Home Minister said Rab had intelligence report that a group of miscreants were gathering there to conduct subversive act. Based on the information, the Rab force members went there without thinking about their life risk, he added.
“Members of law enforcement agencies have been always performing their duties amid their life risks,” the Home minister added.
About present condition of SI Monir, he said doctors said he is getting well. Monir has done a heroic job and we are proud of him, the Home Minister said hoping that the ailing Monir will join his job after recovery very soon.
Inspector General of Police AKM Shahidul Hoque and Director General of RAB Benazir Ahmed accompanied the Home Minister during his visit to Dhaka CMH. – News Desk
