A mobile court, conducted by Sadarpur upazilla administration, in a drive on the rivers Padma and Arial Khan seized current nets worth Taka two lakhs and one mound of mother hilsha fish on Sunday.
The mobile court, on secret information, carried the nightlong drive on the rivers. The fishermen, illegally catching the fish ignoring the government ban, sensing the presence of the court fled away leaving their nets and fish.Later, the mobile court led by Sadarpur UNO M Lokman Hossain and fisheries department officials burnt the current nets and distributed the fish among the orphanages of the area.-BSS, Faridpur
