Dhaka – A low pressure turns into well marked low in the East central Bay of Bengal yesterday that may reactivate the Monsoon rains further over the country, meteorologists said yesterday.
The rains would be concentrated in the south than the flood ravaged north. There may be some rains in the central regions, a meteorologist at the BMD said. However, flood forecasting and warning centre (FFWC) sources said, their forecast models for the next 5 days shows the floods are waning in the north. The major rivers like the Brahmaputra is on the retreat coming down from its danger level(DL) slowly that may help the most affected Kurigram,Jamalpur and Bogra residents sigh a heave of relief. Along with the Brahmaputra which takes the name of Jamuna downstream playing havoc at a vast swathe of lands in Jamalpur and Bogra is slowly retreating.
