Probe report against Khaleda Zia in case for hurting religious sentiment

Dhaka-The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka on Monday deferred the date to submit probe report in a case filed against BNP Chief Begum Khaleda Zia for hurting religious sentiments of the people, to August 29.Magistrate Sharafuzzaman Ansari deferred the submission of the report as the concerned official of Shahbagh Police Station in the city could not submit the report to the court on Monday, following the direction of the court, passed on June 30.
Pro-Awami League organisation, Jananetri Parishad President AB Siddiqui lodged the case on October 21, 2014, accusing Khaleda Zia of using defamatory remarks, intended to create conflict among the people of different social strata and beliefs.
The case docket says, while addressing a function of the Hindu community at the Institute of Engineers, Bangladesh, on October 14, 2014, Khaleda Zia said, “Awami League leaders are pretending to be secular but they have no belief in any religion.”-
