A pedestrian was killed and five others injured when a bus lost control after a petrol bomb attack and ran over them in Dhaka’s Malibagh on Saturday.This happened around 8pm on Saturday at Malibagh’s Chowdhuryparha during the ongoing Opposition’s 72-hour blockade.
Witness Mehedi Hasan told bdnews24.com that the bus lost control and shot into the footwalk after a petrol bomb was hurled at it.
People in the area rushed the injured to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.
The injured at DMCH said the bus driver lost control after a bomb was flung at the bus. Then it ran over the pedestrians on the footwalk, said bdnews24.com Correspondent Kamal Hossain Talukder from the hospital.
One of the pedestrians, Habibur Rahman was killed on the spot.
The injured were identified as Mohiuddin, 45, advocate Golam Kibria, 45, and bus passengers Rezaul Karim, 40, Ehsanul Hasan, 30, and driver’s assistant Monir Hossain.
Karim, Hasan and Monir have suffered burns.
Kibria has lost her left arm while Mohiuddin’s left leg was severely injured when the bus ran over them, Talukder said from the spot. – bdnews24.com
