Mysterious death of doctor in Barisal

A doctor died mysteriously in the city on Friday noon and police
detained two staffs of his clinic in this connection.
The victim was identified as Dr. Arifur Rahman, 40, from Sreenagor of
Munshiganj upazila, and working as physician of Shefa Clinic and
Diagnostic Center in Sagordi area of the city.
Shakhawt Hosain, Kotwali police station in charge, said Miraj and
Babu, two staffs of the clinic, brought Dr. Arifur to Sher E Bangla
Medical College Hospital, where he was declared as dead by the
attending physician.
The hospital authority seeing injury signs on hands and legs and
bleeding from nose informed police. Police detained the two clinic
staffs and sent the dead body to morgue for autopsy after lodging a
case of unnatural death, said Sub Inspector Faisal.
The cause of death could be determined after receiving the postmortem
report, the police officials said.
Detained clinic staffs, residents of local Bihari Colony area, said
the doctor perhaps died from stroke due to high blood pressure and
they brought him to hospital for treatment.
