Dhaka – Awami League presidium member and Health minister Mohammad Nasim on Monday criticised the BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia for saying that the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has sold the country to India by signing anti-state pacts during her four-day visit to India.Calling upon the BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia to return to the right truck, Nasim said the country had liberated under the leadership of AL in 1971. The very party would sell the country to another state, it is nothing but ridiculous.
“Don’t make such irresponsible statement about our motherland. None can be able to sell Bangladesh,” he said this while talking to the reporters at Dhanmondi office after attending a preparatory was organized to make Mujibnagar Day programme a success.
Earlier, on Saturday, India and Bangladesh inked nearly two dozen pacts comprising defence and civil nuclear cooperation after “productive” talks between their Prime Ministers Narendra Modi and Sheikh Hasina.
The AL presidium member also said BNP chief Khaleda Zia has become frustrated seeing seeing the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s current achievements and that is why she (Khaleda) is making such irresponsible statements against the country.
Replying to a question, Nasim said, there is nothing wrong with the agreement that will allow India to cooperate Bangladesh in judicial sector.
“Whatever agreements and MoUs have been inked between two countries—India and Bangladesh, are for the country’s socio-economic development,” he said adding that the herald of change Bangabandhu daughter Sheikh Hasina did not ink any anti-state agreement in the past and would not do so in the future. – Staff Reporter
