A newborn child was killed allegedly by its mother in Nangalkot
upazila of the district early Sunday.
Police arrested the mother, Taslima Begum, wife of Majidul Islam,
resident of the upazila headquarters.
Officer-in-charge of Nangalkot Police Station Swapan Kumar Nath said
Majidul found the body of his 19-day-old son with throat slit, lying
in the lap of Taslima after retuning home from his workplace in the
morning.
Taslima, also mother of two daughters, is a mentally retarded woman,
said the OC quoting Majidul Islam.
