Nipa who lost her right leg in accident gets talent pool stipend

Dhaka, March 26 – Meftahul Jannat Nipa, who lost her right leg in a road mishap in front of her school, obtained stipend in the talent pool. She got the result at Jashore General Hospital on Sunday evening. She is now undergoing treatment at cabin number 3 of surgery female ward.
After hearing the information of stipend Nipa told her parents, I’ve fulfilled your dream. But what is what’s waiting for me?
Muslima Khatun, mother of Nipa conveyed this to newsmen at the hospital.
‘The result did not make my daughter happy,’ she added,’ she is unable to bear the pain.’
Physicians at Jashore General Hospital had separated the right leg of Meftahul Jannat Nipa, student of class- VI of Burujbagan Pilot Girls School and former student of Sabuj Kunri Pre-cadet School at the area, lost her right leg as a pick up van of Palli Bydut Samity ran over her leg as soon as she fell off from a school van being hit by the vehicle in front of her school at around 8:30 am March 20.
Dr Abdur Rauf, medical officer of the hospital, department of orthopaedic, Jashore General Hospital told newsmen that the right leg of the child was severed from her body underneath the knee through a successful operation on the day.
Nipa’s father Rafiqul Islam of Dakhkhin Burujbagan village under Sharsha Upazila told that his daughter has an excellent academic record. She stood first in the admission test this year. ‘She was also the first girl of her class at the pre-cadet school earlier,’ he added, ‘Nipa wanted to be a doctor.
But now we are anxious about her future as she needs an artificial leg. – Staff Reporter
