Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) president Khandaker Mahbub Hossain yesterday claimed that lawyers are not involved in financing militancy outfit.
“I believe that no lawyers are involved in financing militancy outfit. But, legal action will be taken against three Supreme Court lawyers who were arrested recently if evidence is found that they did indeed fund a militant organisationm” the SCBA president made the observation at a briefing at his office.Hossain also said that the statement of attorney general over the arrested three lawyers is unfortunate.
He also said that they have believed that the arrested three lawyers are guilty. The matter is now under trial. Such type of comment over the sub-judice matter is totally unfortunate and the lawyers felt shameful following his (attorney general) comment, Hossain added.
