No order after hearing of Time petition

Dhaka’s Special Judge Court-2 heard on Tuesday a time petition of defense lawyer in the graft case filed against retired Col. Oli Ahmed MP for not submitting the statement of his property within the scheduled time.
However, Judge Md Mozammel Haque did not pass any order before leaving the court on Tuesday. Advocate Md Borhan Uddin submitted the petition
to the court seeking time on Tuesday while the anti-graft organisation lawyer appeared to the court on behalf of the ACC.
The defence counsel said in the time petition that his client could appear before the court as he is busy with the ongoing session of Parliament. It has been learnt that Dr Oli Ahmed was absent for the 7th time on Tuesday and his lawyer submitted the latest petition seeking time.
Meanwhile, the judge wanted to know from the defence lawyer as to when his client will appear before the court.
ACC Deputy Director Md Golam Mostafa filed the case against the accused with Ramna Police Station of the city on November 28, 2011 for not submitting his wealth statement to the ACC.
On March 14 last year the complainant and Investigation Officer of the case, Md Golam Mostafa submitted the charge sheet to the court.
The hearing on charge framing against the accused was completed on March 24 and the date for passing order was first fixed on May 9.
The practice is that if the accused is on bail the court wants to pass orders in presence of the respective accused after hearing on the charge framing. – Court Correspondent
