No sending of letter to opposition: PM

DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said her party had no plan of sending letter to opposition for dialogue.“We haven’t discussed or promised about sending any letter to opposition for dialogue and media published mendacious report about it,” she added.
The premier came up with the observation while addressing a view-exchange meeting with grassroots leaders of Netrokona district at Gonobhaban on Thursday night.
Discarding the caretaker system again, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, “No caretaker government but a political one can resolve any political crisis of the country.”
Sheikh Hasina, also the president of Bangladesh Awami League, said Bangladesh was liberated through a democratic process according to the political decisions. Similarly, the country achieved every success under democratic process.
Criticizing the opposition leader’s recent remarks and destructive agitation across the country that led to the death of many innocent people, the Prime Minister said Khaleda Zia wanted to go to the power by using the Hefajat-e-Islam.
“Such destructive activities would not help her gaining the trust of the masses,” she said adding, “People put their trust in us and they have supported our actions against the unruly activities.”
The programme was attended, among others, by central leaders of the party, parliament members of Netrakona, presidents and general secretaries of upazila, thana,union and municipal units and elected representatives of local government.
