Dhaka, June 10 (UNB) – Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Monday said former Sonagazi OC Moazzem Hossain will be arrested soon.
“It’s difficult to arrest someone when he or she goes into hiding, but there’s no lack of effort (from the government) to find him out. I hope, he’ll be arrested soon and action will be taken against him,” he said.
The minister came up with the remarks while addressing a press conference at the secretariat over contemporary issues.
Replying to another question, Quader said he talked to the Home Minister over the issue and the Home Ministry is very sincere about Moazzem’s arrest.
The government has a strong stance over the issue and the Prime Minister is serious about the trial of Sonagazi madrasa student Nusrat Jahan Rafi murder case, he said.
“The government doesn’t have any negligence or weakness over the issue,” Quader added.
Home Minister Assaduzzaman Khan on Sunday said former OC of Sonagazi Police Station Moazzem Hossain will have to face the music for his role in the murder of Feni madrasa student Nusrat.
