The officer-in-charge of Gobindaganj Police Station was closed to Gaibandha Police Line on Saturday night for negligence of duty over the murder of Awami league leader’s son Ashiqur Rahman.The district’s superintendent of police Ashraful Islam said the action was taken against OC Jahidul Islam for his negligence of duty.Police recovered the body of Ashiqur Rahman, son of Gobindaganj municipality mayor and Awami League leader Ataur Rahman from the municipality area in the upazila early Friday.Locals spotted the body stuffed in a sack behind a community centre of municipality early in the morning and informed police.On information, police recovered the body.The victim’s family members alleged that police did not take the necessary steps even though they informed police that he went missing on Thursday noon. -UNB, Gaibandha
