Unknown miscreants swooped on Alok Sen, the Faridpur unit general secretary of Bangladesh Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Oikya Parishad, with sharp weapons in front of his residence in Kamalapur area of Faridpur town on Tuesday afternoon.
Alok is now undergoing treatment at Faridpur Medical College and Hospital (FMCH).The victim’s wife Shikha Sen said two men young men, aged around 22-23 years, called Alok out of the home and hacked him indiscriminately around 4:00pm in front of his house, leaving him critically injured.Hearing him scream, locals rushed to the spot and whisked him to a local hospital first and then to FMCH.Alok said he has no clue about the attack as he has no enmity with anyone.Dipankar Kumar, the doctor on duty at the FMCH emergency unit, said Alok has cuts in both of his hands and legs.Faridpur Kotwali police officer in-charge Nazim Uddin said that they are trying to identify the attackers.
