CHITTAGONG, Nov 13, 2015 (BSS)- The Customs Intelligence (CI) in a drive arrested a man with huge amount of foreign currencies from city’s Station Road area on Thursday night.The arrestee was identified as Jafar Ahmad, 45.Based on information a team of CI arrested Jafar from a rented house at Station Road area at around 12am and recovered TK 17 lakh and foreign currencies equivalent to more than TK 2.5 lakh from him, said Mohammad Jakir Hossain, Deputy Director (DD) of the Directorate of Customs Intelligence.”Jafar is a whole sale agent of cigarette.The customs intelligence also recovered cheque books of different banks, which show abnormal transaction of money” the CI, DD said adding that legal steps would be taken against Jafar.
