Dhaka – Customs intelligence officials detained a passenger and recovered 15 gold bars worth Tk 70 lakh from his possession at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Thursday. Sources at the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) said its officials challenged Mannan Mia, who arrived here by a flight of Biman Bangladesh airlines from Dubai at around 11:00 am, when he was crossing the green channel.Searching his luggage, the customs intelligence officials recovered the gold bars which were kept hidden under the trolley tray in a unique way, said director general of the CIID Dr Moinul Khan.A case was filed with Airport Police station in this connection.UNB
