Dhaka -A young man was killed and at least 20 others injured in a clash between two groups of villagers over establishing supremacy at Bahara village in Muksudpur upazila on Tuesday morning.The deceased was identified as Fayek Miah, 35, son of late Raja Miah of the village.Locals said there was a long standing dispute between Abu Touyob Mia and Sarower Mia over establishing supremacy in the area. Following the dispute, the supporters of Touyob and Sarower locked into a clash with home-made weapons and sticks on Tuesday morning that leaved Fayek dead on the spot and 20 others, belonging to both the feuding groups, injured.They also carried out vandalism in opponents’ houses and looted valuables.On information police rushed to the spot and took the situation under control, said Md Azizur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Muksudpur Police Station.Police also arrested three people from the spot, the OC added.
The injured were admitted at Muksudpur Upazila Health Complex said the OC adding that additional police personnel were deployed at the area to avert furthers troubles.UNB news agency
