One man killed in Cox’s Bazar shootout

Cox’s Bazar police claims to have killed a history sheeter in a shootout involving them and ‘two robber gangs’ at Moheshkhali Upazila.Moheshkhali police’s Inspector Didarul Ferdous said that the encounter took place at Upazila’s Matarbarhi Union.Police claimed the dead, identified as Md Murad, 32, was wanted for several charges, including robbery and abduction.

“Police went to the Dariyakha area after hearing of a shootout between two gangs of robbers. The robbers fired at police forcing them to retaliate.”Murad was found with gunshot injuries at the spot after the robbers fled, he said.Doctors at the local hospital declared him dead when the police brought him in.The police officer said they recovered two firearms and ammunition from the spot.
