Jhenaidah: Father get 15 days jailed and mother one thousand taka penalty for arranging their minor girl’s marriage, by mobile court led by upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) at Sundorpur village under Kaliganj upazila in Jhenaidah Thursday morning.UNO and first class executive magistrate Eradul Haque said when we assured about that the father and mother of a class six student identified as Aklima Khatun, 13, daughter of Shahinur Rahman and Hasina Begum of Sundorpur village under the upazila that has given marriage forcedly, later we arrest the parents and after scrutinizes the incident, the mobile court gave 15 days jailed to the father and one thousand taka penalty to the mother of the girt under the Marriage Act.
Beside, the same mobile court, another drug peddler identified as Zahangir Hossain, son of Abul Hossain of Bakulia village under the same upazila in Jhenaidah sent to jail for one and half year under the drug act on Wednesday after noon. He was a notorious drug businessman in the area from a long time.
