Partial trial in BDR mutiny killings: BNP

A BNP leader has alleged that the country has only seen ‘partial trial’ over the killings during the 2009 BDR mutiny.
“The masterminds of the mutiny are still at large. Their godfathers are not yet nabbed. It appears that the government has negotiated with them,” Standing Committee Member Mahbubur Rahman said on Tuesday after placing wreath at the graves of those killed in the mutiny.74 people including 57 army officers were killed in the Feb 25-26, 2009 mutiny at the Peelkhana headquarters of then Bangladesh Rifles (BDR).
BDR was later re organised as Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).
Rahman described Feb 25 as ‘a black day in the history of the nation’ .
If the BNP came to power it would try those who planned and instigated the killings, he said.
