The district administration has taken a plan to hold a three-day
Digital Innovation Fair-2013 at Independence Square of the town from
October 3 to 5 through active participation of all.
The objective of the fair is to popularize the ICT related activities
among the people to help materialize the dream of building a digital
Bangladesh as per the Vision 2021 declared by Prime Minister Sheikh
Hasina.
A preparatory meeting to make the fair a total success was held in the
conference room of deputy commissioner (DC) on August 27 with DC Dr.
Quazi Anwarul Haque in the chair.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Abu Bakar Siddique, district
level officials, political leaders and heads of different institutions
including journalists took part in the meeting.
The meeting took a number decisions including ensuring the
participation of all entrepreneurs of union information service
centers and students of high schools and colleges and providing ideas
to the learners about lap top, projector for holding multimedia class
room and contents prepared by the teachers.
Besides, decisions were also taken to help the visitors open e-mail
accounts instantly to communicate with others in line with the modern
world and inform them about mobile banking and other ICT activities
through digitized system.
Apart from this, a decision was also taken to hold a seminar on
hi-tech park affairs in the auditorium of Zila Shilpakala Academy of
the town during the period, said M. Zahid Newaz, nezarat deputy
collector of DC office.
An official of Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority is likely to present
a keynote paper at the function and a computer teacher of a university
has possibility to deliver his lecture in this seminar as a resource
person, he also said.
A 10-member committee headed by DC Dr. Quazi Anwarul Haque was formed
to stage the fair successfully in the district.
Talking to BSS, DC Dr. Quazi Anwarul Haque urged all to visit the fair
with their children everyday and sought their whole hearted
cooperation to make the fair and seminar grand success. -BSS,
